Obituary of Virginia Ellen Moore

Gate City- Virginia Ellen Jones Moore, 94, of Little Valley Community, went to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon (May 11, 2018) at her home following a lengthy illness.  She lived her entire life in the Little Valley Community.  Mrs. Moore attended Cowans Branch Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Moore; parents, W.S. and Mallie Jones.

Virginia Ellen Moore is survived by her sons, Ivan Moore and wife, Nancy and Kevin Moore; 2 grandsons, James Edward Moore and wife, Anita, Jeremiah D. Moore and wife, Jamie; 3 great-grandchildren, Kristel Moore, Samuel Moore, and Levi Moore.

A visitation will take place on Monday (May 14, 2018) at Scott County Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. or friends may also call anytime at her residence.  A funeral service will take place on Monday (May 14, 2018) at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Tolley and Preacher Samuel Newland, officiating.  A graveside service will be on Tuesday (May 15, 2018) at 11 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery with Eddie Thomas, Bruce Blessing, Jeff Taylor, Chris Helton, David Baker, and Rick Kiser serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Shelton, Jerry Grimm, Darrell Shelton, Ron Shelton, John Shelton, and J. Fred Shelton.
