Obituary of Hassel R. Carter

Hassel R. "Dick" Carter Kingsport - Hassel R. "Dick" Carter, 86, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Monday evening, September 23, 2013 at Brookhaven Manor after a period of declining health. He was born in Blountville (Boozy Creek/Timber Tree Branch area) and had lived in Kingsport most of his life. Mr. Carter enjoyed farming, mowing, weedeating and any type of yard work. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah McGrady Carter; parents, Noah and Mary Carter and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his sister, Jean Hutchins and husband, R.C. of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews and special caregivers Norman and Mae Bowman. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Thursday, September 26, 2013 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Rader officiating Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 207 North Boone St., Suite 1500, Johnson City, TN 37604. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff on the 400 wing for their kindness and care.
