Obituary of Luther "Lou" Frank Myrtle

Luther “Lou” Frank Myrtle Jr, age 73 of Kingsport, entered into the glories of Heaven on Sunday, December 18, 2022.  Lou was born on August 31, 1949 in Baltimore, MD to Luther and Delores Myrtle.  On May 27, 1973, Lou married his best friend and love of his life, Linda Niedzwick, and after 49 years of a beautiful marriage together, she survives.

Lou was an avid history buff.  He enjoyed his time with a Civil War club and volunteering with the Watauga Rail Road Historical Society.  He enjoyed landscaping, gardening and bird watching.  The love that Lou had for his family and friends will go on without ending.

Lou was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ardena Adamson.  Left to cherish Lou’s memory are his wife, Linda Myrtle; son, Luther Myrtle, III; daughter, Kellie Ann Wright and husband Thomas; brother, Charles Myrtle and wife Pat; four nephews; and many close and loving friends. 

There will be a memorial service in Lou’s honor on Thursday, December 22, 2022 beginning at 5:30 pm at Carter Trent Funeral Home Kingsport with Rev. Jack Edwards officiating.
