Obituary of Wanda Minton Lane

Wanda Minton Lane, age 91, of Weber City, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 03, 2022, at Nova Health Care and Rehab. In her free time, Wanda enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden, tending to her flowers and she was an excellent cook. Early in her life she was very active with the Girl Scouts of America and the American Red Cross. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church in Weber City, where she enjoyed worshipping and serving the Lord alongside her church family. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and she will be so greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Taskilee Lane; parents, Charlie and Velma Minton; brother, Roy Minton; and sisters, Jerry Frazier and Freda Carter.

She is survived by her 4 daughters, Margaret Schumacher and husband, James of Carabelle, FL, Beth Crane and husband, Greg of Tucson, AZ, Kathy Gilliam and husband, Larry of Kingsport, TN, Karen Matney and husband, Bill of Weber City, VA; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Jackie Fuller and husband, John of Nickelsville, VA; special niece, Nancy Darnell; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and many special friends at Nova Healthcare and Rehab.

A Memorial Service will be held for Wanda at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City with Pastor Larry Spivey officiating and special music by Josh Taylor. Family and friends may gather beginning at 2:00 pm in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Weber City at 155 Shady Elm Lane weber City, VA 24290.
