Connie and I wish our deepest sympathy to the family.
Corkey was a character. When the country loses its characters, then we will lose the country. There are a great many good things that can be said about Corky, and I will say them as long as I can to anyone that listens. Generous, Joyful, Loyal, Personable and Caring to name a few. He was a good person, a pleasure to be with and talk to, and a truly good friend. We met Karen and Corkey when Corkey and I were in college in the sixties. After a few short years which provided lots of joyful memories for all four of us, we eventually had to go our own ways to make our livings and raise our families. Although Corkey and I called each other from time to time, I deeply regret that the four of us could not have been closer to each other during our later lives.
We will miss Corkey,
Tom Pierce

So sorry to hear about Corky's passing. Back in the seventies and eighties had te pleasure of working with Corky at HVCH. We worked a many night shift together. No matter what was going on ( emergency or etc) he never got shook up, always maintained his cool. He was always smiling. We became friends and fished together some, on one occasion we were fishing in a small boat coming down the river and drifted into a patch of willow trees , a snake fell off a limb into our little boat! I was ready to abandon ship, Corky calm as as usual, picked the snake up with a boat paddle threw it up on the bank still smiling , kept right on fishing. Corky was a Corker! RIP BUDDY Roger McAmis

I worked with Corkey for many years at HV. He was always laid back and smiling, even during emergencies. I always called him Ken as in the Ken doll because he was so perfectly dressed and never a hair out of place. That was back in the good old days. I’m sorry for your loss. He was a good one.

My wife and I met Corkey and his then wife Karen when the came to Colorado to visit mutual friend Mike and Linda McKamey. Corkey was a funny fella and we enjoyed his company. In later years he revisited us and stayed with us a few days along with Mike McKamey. Corkey will certainly be missed by family and friends.

Mickey and Doris Ann....I was so sorry to read of the passing of Corkey. Remember him so much from our young years. We feel your pain after having lost Gene nearly 3 years ago....May Corkey rest in peace and enjoy being reunited with your parents. That gap is never really filled when we lose a sibling...but God called him home and he suffers no more. May your days be filled with good memories and lots of love. God is watching over you in these sad times....God bless all....Pam Bush Alexander

Corkey was the best and only caring uncle I had. I do wish someone from our family would have let his sister know. Its a heartbreaking loss to our family and my kids who he enjoyed visiting so much. I am thankful he was saved and got to see his new grand baby before he passed. He will be sorely missed by the Porter and Early family. We all know he was Mamie's favorite, and saved Mamie and Papaws life many times over. Despite the hate in your hearts for us all, i love you dearly and am deeply sorry for the loss of Corkey.
