Charles, hopefully, you'll remember me. I worked just down the hall about 20 paces from you at Mason Dixon. You called me "Charlene" and I called you "Lonnie". That was back in the good old days (late 70's, early 80's).
My deepest sympathy to you and your loved ones on the passing of a truly self-made man. He never gave up on his quest for knowledge and lived life to its fullest. I truly hope that all the memories and traditions that have accumulated over the years will sustain you now, and in time to come. And may our Heavenly Father, in His infinite mercy, provide each of you comfort during this difficult time of bereavement.
I'll continue to keep you in my heart and prayers.

Lonnie was the epitome of laughter wherever he went. Though he could be very serious and stern, he was filled with care and love. I still can’t believe he’s gone. My comfort is knowing 100% he is with Jesus, Ella Mae and his parents he loved. Sending many prayers to Donna, Charles, and Andy. Love you each “muchly. “

Lonnie was such a character! I loved his stories. The last time I saw him, we went bowling. He helped me and we laughed a lot! My sincere condolences to Donna, Charles and the rest of the family.

I have known Lonnie for over 40 yrs.. We always had a standing joke about his polka-dotted socks.(being his freckles on his legs, and his crazy socks.) To this day we would joke about it and have a big laugh. He was a fine man, friend and jokester. I will miss him dearly. Love you my sweet friend.

I learned through his son, Charles, and his daughter in law, Pam, that Lonnie was a loving and honest man. His family was his pride and joy. He left an unforgettable legacy to his family, Church, friends, and community. His life made an enormous impact to all who knew him.

Donna, Charles, and families...I'm so sorry for the loss of your precious daddy. I hope you know how much I truly love Uncle Lonnie and Aunt Ella Mae as well as all of you. My heart is with you all. I take comfort in knowing how happy my daddy was to greet him at Heaven's door. Separately, they might have been very different people but when they were together, they always seemed to be the same...with their joking and seeing which one could outdo the other with their stories. That is a memory that I will always treasure and I hope you will as well. Love to you all...
