Obituary of Sue A. Morelock

Sue Morelock, 94, finally ended her wait on Tuesday morning when she passed away peacefully with family at her side.  Sue was born on June 5, 1924 in Hawkins County and later moved to Kingsport to begin working at Tennessee Eastman.  In 1952, she married her husband of 42 years, Bill Morelock.  She retired from the Eastman in 1986 after 23 years in the Food Services.  In her retirement years, she enjoyed rocking on her porch.  She was a member of the Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Sue is survived by her four children; Carol Dull and husband Jerry, Teresa Larkin and husband Allen, Mike Morelock and wife Tammy, and Lisa Bacon and husband John; her sister and best friend Lucy Ellis, and brother Ronald Arnold.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Nick Dull, Sara Stender, Tommie Sue Johnson, Matthew Larkin, and Ben Larkin and eight great grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday August 31st, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m.in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Morelock officiating. 

A graveside service will be held the following day at Oak Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.  Family members will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send your own mother flowers, and if she has passed, then send flowers to someone you love.  Friends of the Larkin Family may also make donations to the Sullivan Baptist Church Building Fund, 4152 Maplewood, Kingsport, TN 37660. 

Family will receive friends at the home of Teresa Larkin, 2025 Todd Drive, Kingsport.  

The family would like to thank the staff at Holston Valley Hospital, especially ER Nurse Makayla, Step-Down Unit Nurse Emily, and Wilcox Hall Nurses Sherry and Lexi.  They would also like to thank Dr. Daniel Carroll for years of dedication to the health of their mother.
