Jim was great man. You could guarantee on Saturdays that Jim would be at the field or at gym getting our backs. Bless all the referees and umpires hearts Jim kept them in line and would always be hollering Pete and Repeat sitting on the fence. Pete fell off. Who’s left. Lol. It’s some of the best memories I have. Prayers for his whole family. Jim will be missed, but never forgotten.
Thanks, Pete Akard

I still can't believe your gone. I have so many good thoughts and memories of you i went to the braves game, out to eat, or even just the wonderful conversation we had at your home and every time I left you always reminded me "To come back anytime you want." I will never forget your silly jokes and the ways you made me laugh like when you said that "You and Mamaw went to college: she went to Penn state and you went to state Penn" or when you told Michelle or Tim their left foot stank. I know that sometimes you acted tough and mean but on the inside you were a sweet, gentle, kind soul. Above that I will never forget the lessons you taught me like when you told me "You need to have a good education because that's the one thing no one can take from you." You showed the importance of a good work ethic as I watch you make beautiful furniture even at a older age. And you showed me how to treat a woman as you gave my Mamaw the respect and the love she deserves. You treated her better than any man on this earth. I'm going to take these lessons you have given me and apply them to my life and hopefully I can be at least half the man you were. I hope you are enjoying heaven because one day we will all be together again but until then you will be loved and missed
