Obituary of Denver Claude Price
Denver Claude Price 90, of the Daniel Boone Community, Gate City, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 16, 2018. He was a faithful member of Marble Point Methodist Church; a World War II Army Veteran serving in Germany; a member and past member of Catlett Lodge #35; 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason; past patron of Gate City Chapter 116 and Powell Valley Chapter 13 OES; member of Jericho Shrine; and an honorary Kentucky Colonel. Claude retired from the Mead Corp. after 42 and half years.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Shelton Price; parents, Charlie and Clara Jenkins Price; sisters, Sybil Burke, Opal Bruner, and Eula Knight; brothers, Ray Price and Bruce Price.
Survivors include his loving wife Audrey Sue Price; step-son, Brian T. Mullins; brother, Houston Price and wife Stacie; along with several very special nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home from 12pm to 2pm. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Gary Hunley, Pastor Toby Reed, Pastor J.W. Bowen, and Pastor Danny Bostic officiating.
A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery with Rick Schaffer Kelly Garrett, Joe, Ely, Colin Rivers, Wayne Bruner, and Aaron Kilgore serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Price, Wendell Price, Billy Giles, Elmo Winston, Dennis Byrd, and Jimmy Wampler.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital at 950 W. Faris Rd. Greeneville, SC 29605 or Marble Point Church Building Fund at Dana Jenkins 2230 Daniel Boone Rd. Gate City, VA 24251.
