Obituary of Deborah Sharon Buckles

Deborah Sharon Buckles, 72, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019 in Charlotte, NC following a brief illness. She was born in Kingsport to the late Henry and Janie Yates. Deborah attended Ketron High School, and managed the cafeteria at Kingsport Christian School. She also worked at Heritage Federal Bank and Amsouth Bank as a personal banker. Deborah attended Kingsport Baptist Temple where she taught Sunday School and worked with the youth group, later she became a member of Homeland Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and sister who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wayne Buckles.

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Buckles and husband Kevin Leonard; son, Greg Buckles and wife Nicole; sister, Karen Yates; brother, Rick Yates; adopted sister, Pam Jayne Wolfe; adopted brother, Kenny Jayne; along with extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor J.W. Depew officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Hermon UMC Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
