Obituary of L. Glen Moore

L. Glen Moore 92, of Kingsport went to be with this heavenly father on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at his home. Glen was born in Nickelsville, VA to the late Will and Theresa Moore. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947. Glen retired from Abbott Laboratories after 42 years of service. He was also an avid musician, singer, and gardener. Glen attended The First Baptist Church of Blountville and was a faithful servant.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Joe, and Ed Moore; sisters, Cloteen Quillen, Mable McConnell, and Elizabeth Starnes.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Wanda Moore; son, Scott Moore; sister, Doris Palmer;  loyal companion, Laci; along with a host of friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Clay Austin officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Holston View Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Good Shepherd Sunday School Class. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Blountville Building Fund or a charity of one’s choice.
