Obituary of Jack Everett Dotson

Jack E. Dotson, 88, of Kingsport, TN passed away on December 9, 2019 at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jack retired from the Kingsport Press and was a member of the Kingsport Chapter of the American Legion.

He was born in Burdine, Kentucky on December 29, 1930 the son of the late Everett and Mary Dotson.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Tim Dotson; daughter Robin Dotson Carter and brothers Gene, Bob and Jerry Dotson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Glenda Dotson; daughter Tracy Dotson Carroll and husband Danny; grandsons Corey Carter and wife April and Daniel “Rocky” Carroll; great-grandson Liam Everett Carter; brothers Howard Dotson and Joe Dotson.

Military graveside services will be held at 12pm on Thursday, December 12 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating and honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 11:45am.
